3 traditions to check off

Stamped! keeps these as a checklist, so you can tick each one off on the visit.

  • Wait Chapel Carillon

Wait Chapel's tower holds a 12-ton carillon of 48 bronze bells, and the chapel has hosted presidential debates. Visitors see it at the head of the Quad.

  • Stone Arch

This arch on the Quad is a replica of the one on the Old Campus in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and each graduating class walks through it at Commencement. Visitors can walk through it too.

  • The Magnolias

The magnolias on Manchester Plaza grew from seeds collected on the Old Campus in 1947. Visitors walk among them on the lower quad.
