Stamped! Privacy Policy
For the Stamped! A City Passport app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro. Last updated: October 29, 2026
The Short Version
- Stamped! has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer never receives your name, location, photos or travel history.
- Your stamps, trips and saved places stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account.
- Some links open partner sites, such as hotel and ticket sites. If you book through them, Stamped! may earn a commission. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
What Stays on Your Device
- Your passport and trips: stamps, visited and saved landmarks, your own saved places, trips, your college list, quiz scores and settings are stored on your device.
- iCloud sync: if you're signed in to iCloud, this data syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage). The developer can't see your private iCloud data. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Photos and scans: photos you take or choose, and 3D scans of buildings, stay on your device and in your iCloud. The app only reads the photos you pick.
Permissions the App Asks For
- Location: used on your device to show where you are on the map, tell you when you're at a landmark so you can stamp it, and start walking tours from where you are. Your location isn't sent to the developer, isn't linked to you, and isn't used for tracking or advertising. Apple Maps features handle location under Apple's privacy policy.
- Camera and Photos: used only when you take or choose a photo or scan a building.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition: used only when you choose to speak to the app. Speech is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition.
- You can turn any of these off at any time in your device's Settings.
Services the App Contacts
- To show landmark details, the app requests public information from these services. The requests include the name or map position of a city or landmark, never your identity or your own location.
- Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons: summaries and photos of landmarks and cities.
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit) and Apple Maps: weather, maps, Look Around and nearby places.
- Ticketmaster and SeatGeek: upcoming events near a city or landmark.
- Frankfurter: currency exchange rates.
- Like any web request, these services can see your device's IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.
Partner Links and Commissions
- Buttons such as Find Hotels, Check Prices and Get Tickets open partner websites, including Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Ticketmaster and SeatGeek. Some of these are affiliate links: if you make a booking or purchase, Stamped! may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. A "Stamped! may earn a commission" note is shown next to these links.
- Affiliate links are run by affiliate networks such as Partnerize (for Expedia), CJ and impact.com. When you tap one, the partner and its network may set cookies or record the click in your browser so the booking can be credited. This happens on their websites, not in the app.
- Stamped! doesn't send partners your name, contact details, location or travel history. The developer receives only overall reports from these programs, such as numbers of clicks, bookings and commissions, which don't identify you.
- Anything you enter on a partner's site, such as bookings and payments, is handled by that partner under its own privacy policy and terms.
Emails You Send
- The app's "Report" and "Suggest" links open your own email app with a message filled in. It may include the app version, your device's iOS version and language, and the building or city you're writing about. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. Emails are used only to fix mistakes and improve the app.
Children
- Stamped! doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Partner links open outside the app, and we recommend a parent or guardian handles any bookings.
Deleting Your Data
- Deleting the app removes the data on your device. To remove synced data too, go to Settings, then your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, and delete the Stamped! data. If you emailed the developer and want that email deleted, just ask.
Changes to This Policy
- This policy may be updated when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
Contact
- Questions about this policy or your data: email [email protected] or use the contact page.
